Don’t be put off by someone who is cheap. I am a cheap photographer but offering my opinion to you from the inside, not touting for your job because you are miles away from me. I charge £450 for weddings from 1 hour before service to actual cutting of cake and actual first dance, normally 8pm ish. All images hi -Q supplied on a DVD.
I have a marvellous raves page and only use my website to advertise that I made. I keep my cost to an absolute minimum except on equipments so the client pays less. I have worked with lots of people with degrees and other qualifications in my 55 years and not all of them are great. A degree is no guarantee.
Beware of anyone with letters under their name. A lot are meaningless. You can pay £100 ish and join some tomorrow. Most are just like a lot of “clubs” that simply offer a magazine every quarter
I have been clicking for 40 years and not saying I am the greatest but have done 35 weddings this year and 37 in 2011.
It is true you get what you pay for sometimes but some of us are not greedy and simply love doing photography over making money but we have to earn. Having said that, a photographer is not with you for one day only. A wedding is a week’s work to me in total. I don’t buy prints from the local chemist at 10p otherwise my experience is wasted. Do your homework and you'll be fine on the day. Good Luck to you both. Just sayin.:beer:0 -
Just thought i'd let you all know that i booked my photographer - Stewart Clarke Photography. £705 for 3 hours photographer, all images on hir es disc with right to reprint, also a slip case album with 20 6x4 prints of my choice.
it's a bit more than i wanted to pay tbh but i'm pleased cos he is a very good photographer.0
