tax changes

I am outraged that as a 60 year old woman living on just over £10,000 pension income but with no entitlement to any benefits, I shall have to pay more than £10 a month extra in tax from April 2008. Does anyone know of any organised pressure group challenging this gross unfairness?

Only know of the queue of people waiting to kick Brown's backside for his latest tax sleight of hand - millions long I expect. I'm particularly incensed that he's copping extra VAT on increased fuel bills which must amount to a considerable fortune and contributes to fuel poverty.
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

without knowing the personal tax allowance for 2008/9 its not possible to say whether you will be worse off or better off.

even if personal allowance goes up, I still can't understand how Brown is allowed to state, as he has done many times, that his budget has benefited pensioners, without being challenged - I just long to hear him have to justify putting tax increases directly onto the worst off

you may prove to be correct but until we know how much the personal tax allowance will go up we don't yet know whether you will be better off or worse off.
