Car insurance claim refused

What are the "incidents" they refer to being unaware of?
Quentin,
I'm not completely sure why they've used the word "incidents" so assume they're refering to :-
Undisclosed owner and keeper of vehicle
This was because my daughters partner (who keyed up the insurance proposal) named her as the proposer, legal owner and the registered keeper.
As they've been living together for 4 or 5 years now and he included himself as her common-law wife in the proposal I'd suggest they're joint legal owners of the car.
So this all comes down to the fact that the V5 is in his name, so my daughter isn't the registered keeper.
However I have done some dummy quotes on One Call's website and a quote with the correct details, includung him as registered keeper comes back fine. Doing the same dummy quote with my daughter as registered keeper also comes back fine and both have the same cost.
So I think their "voiding" of the policy and refusal to accept the claim is unreasonable.
What hasn't helped matters is that their website pre-filled the questions of legal owner and registered keeper with "proposer" and you have to actively select any other options. Really this field should eithe be blank with a drop down menu, or it should or it should show as "select".0 -
It sounds like she has a good case. If they would've accepted her with the correct details then I hope the ombudsman would rule in her favour, subject to any premium adjustment. She needs to exhaust the insurers complaints procedure first.
Good idea to get the car back just in case.
I don't think your argument about the drop-downs is strong. He probably used drop-downs for Mr/Miss and also length of licence and number of no claim etc..0 -
Sorry to throw a spanner in the works, One Call are an intermediary eg they deal with lots of different Insurers who will have different views on rating factors eg who the registered keeper is.
This could mean the quotes you've just got are with a different Insurer to your own Insurer, it could also explain the vastly differing prices0 -

When you go through a quote I can't see any mention of who the insurer is.
OP, look at the certificate of insurance and find out who the insurer is.0
