Changing total due of item I've bought...

Hello,
I've bought a camera for £185 from eBay. The listing had 'collection only' for postage, but I messaged the seller and he said he would post for £8.50.
I have no won the item, but am only able to pay £185 - I can't change the total. Am I right in thinking the Seller needs to recalculate the total and invoice me? I have tried explaining this to the seller ,but I don't know his English is very good and he doesn't understand!
If I were to pay the £185 through Paypal, then try to arrange to send an extra £8.50 through to his Paypal address, would I be protected?
Thanks!

Message them asking for an invoice including postage as agreed before you won the item.
They may not know your the person that asked for it to be posted.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

Just use the 'request total from seller' function. His English can't be that bad - if you negotiated for him to post.
You should still be protected if done seperately - but easier if done together.0
