PPI Claim against Loans.co.uk

Hi can anyone help me I am going mad here, I put in a claim against GE Money as when I paid my loan off to my surprise I was told that the PPI was still in place. I knew nothing about this insurance as I thought I had always been careful to not take these policies out. To cut a long story short in August Loans.co.uk upheld my claim and said that they need to sort the figures out and then pay out. The problem is I am still waiting, I have phoned them a number of times and they have claimed that it is GE Money holding up preceedings.

The last time I managed to get hold of them was a month ago now, and as they have agreed to pay out they wont put anything in writing to me until the settlement figure is calculated so I could only contact them on 01244 574290. Now my problem is that this number no longer works and I cannot find another number to chase them, more worryingly I have seen some recent web pages now stating they are no longer trading. Is anyone else in this situation and does anyone else have a working contact number for these people? :( DOes anyone know if this is normal behaviour? If they have ceased to trade does that mean I will no longer be able to claim the money back?

Sorry for the long post

Darren

They're still on the FSA register.

No, the company remains liable, but if it becomes insolvent you may have to claim through the FSCS.
  • Many thanks I will give that number a go

    Hi

Not sure if this is still needed but I have been all aorund the houses trying to contact loans.co.uk

the number you need is 01244 576251
  • I have been having a nightmare with them. cardif pinnacle who udnerwrote the PPI have sent countless details of the policy via a secure mail server loads of times which loans.co.uk allege they have not received which is to calucaklte the final figure. unless i chase them they do make any attempt to follow this up. i have chased up via cardif pinnacle so many times they now refuse and said to report them the FOS. I beleive they are deliberately stonewalling me to give up my claim.

Cardiff Pinnacle aren't responsible, it's Loans.co.uk that mis-sold to you.

Their advice to you is correct. Complain to the FOS, but be prepared to wait some time as the FOS are snowed under.

It may be worth writing to Loans.co.uk via recorded delivery stating that you are about to complain to FOS. As this generates a financial penalty for them with FOS, this may prompt them into finalising your claim.

  • I'm in exactly the same position. Out of the blue loans.co.uk contacted me and in May upheld my claim. They said it would be a long process working out the settlement figure but I've heard no more. Did your settlement eventually get sorted? How long did it take? And have you any advice for me?
  • Does anyone know the correct address to complain to loans.co.uk? Is it the same address and phone number as above, that number gets you through to mbna.

I put my initial complaint through GE as the women on the phone said I had to do it through them. I received a letter the other day saying I would have to contact loans.co.uk.

    Any help would be appreciated

Loans.co.uk and MBNA are both owned by Bank of America, the above address is the registered address of both.
