Renting furnished flat - possessions only insurance?

I'm going to renting a furnished flat where the landlord has their own buildings and contents insurance. The agreement makes it clear that the tenants should have their own insurance to cover their possessions.
I would only really need to cover things like my own electronics, clothing, my bike etc. When going on comparison sites the contents insurance seems to cover everything and is too much for what we need as I'm guessing it covers things like the bathroom fittings, washing machine etc.
The quotes often cover £25k+ worth of contents which means we would be paying for cover we don't need.
I've no idea if this is just the only option or if their are other types of insurance products that more closely match our needs.

Contents covers your possessions in the home.
TBH, anything under £25k is probably going to be the same cost as £25k as you'll be at or very close to the floor price.
You can get "tenants insurance" which is just contents insurance rebadged and sold at very high prices to the knowledgeable.0 -
Thanks. I guessed as much, it just seems annoying that I will have to pay insurance for stuff that doesn't need cover and is already insured under the landlords own insurance0
