Just checking in to see how things are going, if anyone wants added to the list of challengers, all the details are included at the start of the thread. I won't add any names without being instructed directly, as this has led to problems in the past.
Hope everyone is doing well and you always know where I am if needed. Fast approaching the 9th month of this year's challenge, so us old regulars are back to winter preps and preserves.I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

I love this thread I subscribed at the beginning of the year, and read up all the time.
I have just finished work for maternity leave, baby due in 12 days
Trying to decide whether to 'officially' join or try the last three months of the year out, was thinking: £1200 for food, fuel, clothes, and other, so £400 a month, and then an extra £300 for other bits like xmas, birthdays etc. so thats £1500 for the rest of the year, which is basically all of my maternity pay
How does that sound to u experts? I don't want to set unrealistic budgets and fail badly, otherwise I'll give up.
All the bills will come out of dh's pay, but will still be tight. I'm waiting for some contracts to come to an end so that they can be cancelled (phones etc) and my car will be paid off next year and will not be replaced for the sake of it.
We're pretty good here with stuff, but following this will definately give me the nudge I need!Still here..... but working on that!0 -
i've lost track already of how much we have spent so will be starting again as of beginning of sept and have taken so much off my original budget per how many weeks so my budget amount is lower to make up for the last 4 weeks that i haven't counted ... hope that makes sense.
can't believe we are nearly in sept. i need to find myself a little notebook out to keep track of my spends.... i had 2 the other day wonder where i have put them xxx
