US payments in Dollars or Sterling to UK Account

Apologies if this is the wrong forum.

I have a question regarding the best way to get my savings fund deposited to my account in the UK

The funds can be paid in dollars, sterling or euros.

My question is will I get a better exchange rate if the company converts the funds or the bank converts the funds.

I do have a US account and am considering getting the funds deposited to it to avoid conversion rate.

Any help appreciated.

Think you have answered your own question!

A bank will take a nice cut in fees and rate so you are better off using your US$ account. If you do then want to covert to £Sterling or visa versa use a specialist currency exchange, particularly if a large amount to get the best rate.

    Good luck.
