Can any one help please

I'll try to keep as short as possible.

I have been claiming ESA (WRAG) since April, migrated straight over without a WCA, it was contribution based as my Husband was earning a wage, he was off sick from work for 8 months due to illness but was still being paid his basic wage, anyway after seeing the firms occupational health person he was told the report from him stated he could no longer do his job and as they had no alternative work they would have to let him go.

He applied for ESA as JSA said he couldn't claim due to medical reasons, he was granted ESA but I believe it's the assessment rate as they said he would get £70 pw and has not been placed in any group as yet but has filled out the forms which was sent off about 3 weeks ago so just waiting on the outcome.

On the 4th Dec my payment didn't go in the bank but on phoning they said it was a mistake and would make a faster payment, which they did, the following mon my husband got a payment of £30 which they said was 3 days money and the full amount would be paid on the 18th (today), my ESA was also due today.

My husband received a payment of £142 today which is right, but I received nothing, I thought it was a mistake like last time but on phoning I was told it had come up as failure, she couldn't say why but did say it wasn't because it hadn't been paid into the bank, so not the same as last time.

She said she would have to get someone to ring me between 9am and 4.30pm today, but last time I was told this no one rang, I just wondered if anyone would have an idea why I haven't been paid, can only one person claim ESA in the household and if so does this mean mine has stopped?

Could it be we are now getting too much money? We get;

DLA for me, highest rate of both components but the mobility part goes on a motorbility car so I get £309pm

A small private pension which my husband gets £73pm

And that's it apart from the ESA.

    it could be that your husbands claim is for a couple? - i believe that would cancel your claim? but if this was the case, surely the person on the phone would of been able to confirm this?

    also, is your husbands esa contribution or income based? - if its income based, then the pension payment would be counted and removed as an income...
  • Thankyou Wayne, still waiting for the call! My husband is on income based, ok I understand about the pension being counted. I guess I will just have to wait and see what they say
  • All sorted now, because last fortnight they had to make a fast payment into the bank due to their error it messed up their system so they are going to make another fast payment today and just hope it doesn't mess things up again for next time
