cleaning shower glass doors

In our new home, we have a quite large shower with glass doors. Living in very hard water area, it gets very dirty with water and soap spots clearly visible.
ATM OH uses normal bathroom cleaner, which is nit very effective and takes ages to clean.
Wanted to ask for any recommendations for good cleaner and any other tips?

We too have glass doors on our shower and I find that that spraying them after every shower with shower shine - most supermarkets do them - stops alot of the build up between cleaning. Then once a week use a window/glass cleaning spray on them.0

Simply squeegy down the glass after your shower, that way no water or soap spots will remain to leave any marks.
This has worked for me for years, no special cleaners required

I use white vinegar on my glass every other day. It makes the bathroom smell vinegary but it's very effective in keeping lime scale at bay.0

I use a squeegy too and it works really well. After a while it might feel as though the glass is not as slick as we are in a hard water area, then I just spray with Cillit Bang and spread it over the glass, wait a few minutes and rinse off, squeegy again and the glass is clean and sparkling! Easy and cheap!!0

Yes simple window squegee to wipe water after every shower stops you having to clean glass so often and also use on tiles0

Agree with both the use of a squeegee after each shower use (OXO one's are simply the best) and the use of vinegar. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
Have you thought about applying a silane coating to your shower screen door?
I've used Rain-x (advertised for car windscreens) and more recently (because I got a free sample) a product called Nanoshell Glass
Rain X is cheaper, the nanoshell glass seems to be lasting longer
Personal experience is that cleaning is a lot less effort, the last coating I put on was around 3 months ago and is still working well
The advice I give on here is based on my many years in the preservation industry. I choose to remain anonymous, I have no desire to get work from anyone. No one can give 100% accurate advice on a forum if I get it wrong you'll get a sincere apology and that's all:D
Don't like what I have to say? Call me on 0800 KMA;)0 -
I use a squeegee too on the glass door after a shower, but my "extravagance" if you can call is that
is the Method cleaning products just because they smell so incredibly nice, work well and don't need rinsing. I use the daily shower spray, saves a lot of work; and for everything else, I'm partial to their pink grapefruit multi-surface cleaner
I usually stock up when on special offer though :rotfl: Now free from the incompetence of vodafail0 -
Cleaning the shower after every use works, but its easier said than done when in rush for work in the morning!0

How big is your shower???
It takes me 2 minutes, at most, using a microfibre cloth. Would be even quicker if I used a squeegee.0
