thanks malc for your contribution i suppose a point blank refusal to a credit search would set alarms bells for some CS. The person wasn't rude just misleading and didn't know the facts regarding credit searches and how i and possible others would like to limit these on my credit file. I'm not sure how much information a company needs to credit check but i will as jalexa advised look out for any searches that eon may have carried out.
If they have which i doubt i will make a complaint.

    thanks everyone for your contributions

reading jalexa post again i think the phone conversation with mister x i did note his name btw if it hasn't been deleted will prove i refused a credit search and he even confirmed that i had in our conversation.
