Request for statements

I know the bank have upto forty days to send the statements to you, but is this 40 working days or just 40 days?

All advice would be welcomed.

I sent the first letter to three different companies requesting my statements / charges and not one of them has come back to me. (none of them have cashed my £10 cheque either!).

Is it worth chasing them up phone or should I sit tight?

I work for capital one and we are sending out statement requests within about a 10 day turnaround, no later. However, after 41 days, I am waiting to hear from Halifax, MBNA and TSB, all of which have cashed my chq's.

Today, I have sent a letter to the complaints department of each the companies advising that i am giving them a further 7 days then I will report them to the information commissioner and the financial ombudsman, who will them impose heavy fines upon the company's.

If Cap1 can do it, then there is no excuse for other companies not to adhere to the 40 day time frame.

I do not know what else to do, this is actully making me ill as I am getting very frustrated with having to phone every day to be told there ios a back log. Not good enough!!!!
