Can you phone me every week? (NPower)

Just wondering if anyone else has had this?
In my mail today was a letter from NPower. I'm not a customer - though I used to be one some time ago. The letter apologised because sometime last year, they exceeded their Ofcom limit of abandoned marketing calls. Apparently, it was likely that I was a recipient of one or more of those calls. It's quite possible as I've had a few incoming calls that haven't connected - occasionally when on divert to my mobile so it can cost me a bit.
Anyway, it contained a £10 voucher (branded as "Love2shop") to spend at a variety of places (no minimum spend either). It looks legit to me. Ironically, one of the places was Comet. There are a few places where I wouldn't use it as they are overpriced anyway but also on the list of stores is Iceland, Argos, Homebase, Halfords and Superdrug. Basically, it looks as good as a £10 note if I just nip into Iceland when passing.

  • Thank you for the clarification Plane_boy2000.
The bit about "no marketing messages" is interesting and I totally get why that is outlawed.
I have been on the wrong end of nuisance caller(s) in the past when some idiot(s) from another internet business forum thought it would be funny to wind me up. Unfortunately it happened not long after being burgled and my mind (wrongly) connected the two events. If I receive abandoned calls during such times, it could cause some distress. Personally I would rather have a recorded message such as "This is Npower. We have been unable to connect this call." That way, at least I know it isn't the prankster(s) or the burglar(s). The problem being that companies take advantage of this and slip an ad into the message.
