Portman windfall vote

Well if that's true, why didn't they vote?.I find it very sceptical that over 90% said yes when so many people down south were against it.
If you are suggesting that the Portman board (who stand to gain so much from their future Nationwide employers but would lose everything in a corruption scandal) bribed a respectable vote counting agency (who would fold if it ever came out) then I can't take your comment seriously.
The vote was never in doubt because the message was "you can stay mutual AND pick up £450" which is a bit of a winner, really.0 -

corruption takes place in all forms of society(govt probably being the worst offender).I think you could be slightly naive if you don't realise that.ReportInvestor wrote: »Well if that's true, why didn't they vote?

Are you a Portman director by any chance??I want money..........that's what I want !!:j0 -
Those Portman directors would be struck off working in financial services ever again.
Why risk that when they are going to earn a fortune as Nationwide directors and the vote was never in doubt?
It is you who are being naive.
:rotfl:Are you a Portman director by any chance??
Any Portman director would also know that there would be hundreds of Portman employees ready to shop them for any "Sharpe" practice.
Perhaps you could suggest a society where members have voted by less than 90% when a windfall was proposed.
You could be a long time searching.0 -

Have you got a link to a report on the Portman AGM heckling, or did you go yourself.
Here is a report from someone who seems to have been there0
