Looking for recommendation for new ADSL modem

Hello all.
I am looking to buy a new ADSL modem/router but it must have certain options which kind of narrow the choice. I wonder if any of you good folk could make any suggestions.
The ADSL modem will be connected H24, but as it is to be located in Spain, I will not be there all the time. In fact there will be times when I am unable to go there for maybe two or three weeks at a time. All/most modems available in the UK are able to work on the Spanish ADSL system. I'll be using the modem with a VOIP ATA and webcam plugged into it.
On that basis, these are the parameters that I need:-
1) Must have a built-in DYNDNS client to update dyndns.org as the Spanish system uses dynamic IP adresses.
2) I must be able to log into the router using a web browser from the UK to make changes to parameters.
3) It must be capable of reconnecting in the event of an ADSL failure or if the power goes off and the UPS goes flat.
4) It doesn't need to have built in wireless, with or without would be fine.
I presently have a fairly old Netgear DG834G filling the roll and it works fine. I would like to retire this unit, as it is very long in the tooth, and keep it as a standby. Any advice or should I maybe look at a newer version of the same modem.
Many thanks,
V.

I agree. You talk about the NG router as though it's days are numbered, but you forget that these Routers are designed to be thrashed! I think you'll find that it will outlast your current PC by a reasonable amount.
If not, i'll eat my hat. (I dont actually own one, however)Throwing acid is bad.... in some peoples eyes...0 -
If you decide you must replace your old faithfull... A few months ago I bought a Linksys WAG200G. I think it would fill all your requirements and costs about £35.
Incidentally it was the easiest such device I have ever set up, the wizard supplied on CD had it running in 5 mins flat. It is aimed at a home user. Of course you can then go and fiddle with the more advanced stuff to your hearts content.

Hey chaps, I am looking for another modem to keep in Spain, either as the one in use or as a standby. Sometimes it is very difficult to get things in Spain as easily as here, hence the need for a 'swap out' replacement. There are very few Ebuyer or Dabs type suppliers and parcel delivery can be a nightmare. There is also a dearth of 'good' small computer shops. Lots of banderos though. As the VOIP and Webcam need to be H24, then I need to have another modem that a non technical person can just swap over in my absence.
It ain't broke but it needs a companion :rotfl:
I take it from the replies that another Netgear will be the way to go for my peace of mind, which is what I am talking about here.

Another Netgear sounds like your best bet for an easy swap-over. Also make sure it is installed in a well ventilated or airconditioned location.0
