Hello
Im new to this so be patient with me :0)
I opened a cash ISA with Lloydstsb 3 months ago and its now up to its limit of £5640. I still want to save approx £700 a month but im struggling to find a good savings account. From what ive read, i cant open another ISA until April 2013.
Any help would be great,
Thanks in advance
Jo

£300/mth can go into the First Direct Reg Saver.
For the other £400/mth you could do a lot worse than a Lloyds Vantage (you are allowed 3 of them), or a Santander 123.
Or start a S&S ISA? You have £5,640 still of your allowance for that.0 -
You could have a look at regular-saver accounts - they tend to restrict access, but pay a better rate. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/608697
If you can find regular savers which pay more after tax than you can get from an ISA, a good tactic is to build up a sum in regular savers, then transfer over to an ISA when it matures, and start anew with regular savers.0 -
Have you got a pension?
If you do, I would open a RS as said above, plus start a S&S ISA. If you don't, I'd start a pension with some, and open a regular saver too.0 -
Put any excess cash into a "Stocks and Shares ISA." If you choose a cautiously managed fund like Neil Woodfords\Invesco Perpetual income fund, then it should generate 3.5% income plus may be some growth, if you are lucky.
Have a look at a broker site such as H&L(http://www.hl.co.uk/investment-services/isa ) for charges and terms.0
