Early Claim Notification Promotion -

Options
Hello Fellow MSE's,

I thought i would post this as i have not come across this on the forum Boards.

Over the weekend i received a letter from my insurance company, which is always worrying  especially when one does not contact them. first thing i see is that they sent me a cheque

so i read the accompaning letter with the cheque and it turned out due to an administrative error which resulted in my policy premimum being calculated incorrectly set out in the Early Claim Notification Promotion

they refunded me and apologised :T:rotfl:

i wasn't even aware of this but always welcome.

i thought i would share this and wondered if anyone else has been offered this as its very rare for insurance companies to admit to mistakes ;)

Never heard of it. Are you sure it was from your insurer?

Fraudsters have been known to send cheques for spurious reasons then contact the recipient apologising their "mistake" and asking the recipient to send them money by bank transfer once it's cleared.

By the time the cheque bounces or is found to be fraudulent the fraudsters have disappeared :(

Yep, 100% the letter was genuine as i have received the same letter headed papers when my renewal came up earlier in the year.

Plus the Cheque was done electronically (from Sage). Plus i have kept letters and everything so come this Friday and if the cheque is not cleared i will on the phone to the insurers

Not sure how you could complain about a bounced cheque when you have no idea what the cheque was for, (although technically speaking you can sue someone for writing a bounced cheque without having to prove an underlying transaction!)
