  • at the moment hardly at all as I am eating out of the stores I already have and have no room for anymore food Its worked very well as my original £100.00 budget for November has streeetched into December so I haven't bothered to take anymore from my bank account.Mind you I am down to under a fiver in my food purse (I always keep my food money separate from the rest )but as I barely need anything else to buy before New year I am really pleased with my efforts.I go away from Christmas Ev until just after New Year so there is no point in keeping fresh food in the fridge In fact I will take it with me to my DDs rather than waste it and it will be eaten up there.normally I try to limit myself to about every 10 days and then only for things that are really nessesary thats on my shopping list. All saved cash goes into my holiday fund for next years holidays

I am retired and shop with my OH once a week.

I always have a list and check out mysupermarket before I shop.

Our nearest supermarkets are a 20 mile round trip, so I think twice before just 'popping' to the shops.

I always shop early in a morning and generally on a Tuesday, as I don't like crowds. I also always check out the 'reduced' section.

If the weather is bad we have enough in the cupboards to last several weeks. If the fresh fruit/veg runs out we just eat frozen/tinned instead. We always keep UHT milk in the store cupboard and bread in the freezer.
  • Shop once a week online at the moment, and 1-2 times a week pop into waitrose for a couple of bits. Also every few months we order online from specialist retailers to get vegan stuff you can't buy in normal supermarkets, there is a health food shop a couple of miles away that sells most things but its just not on the way to anywhere and we never get time to go there xx

Once a week, but always look around M&S during the week to see if they have reduced items if I am passing.
