So you cancel under your statutory rights. Who is going to fight your case to get a refund if the retailer refuses to respond.
Oh, I know you can send letter before action and take them to court if needed. But how long and how much work is involved?
Against Ring bank 15 days after debit. Get chargback actioned on call. On average 5 to 10 mins to get details. Credit back in account in 2 to 3 days.
OK google have 45 days to contest. Only way they can is to prove delivery (read have signed proof)
Now which do you think is the quickest and easist to get a resoultion
Also my option gets OP a refund before xmas to go and get one from a store = one happy nephew.
Or your version = one unhappy nephew and a annoyed person with a load of paperwork to do ????
Agreed that if everything goes as you've written it then chargeback may be a quicker option. But I was under the impression (I've never needed to do one, so I could be wrong) that if the seller disputes the chargeback and the bank agrees then the money can be clawed back.
I've also never done a DSR with Google but perhaps they will act quickly and process the refund the day the order is cancelled, so I don't think it's quite as clear cut as you make out.0

Yes, they can contest. But have to prove delivery...
ie, signed by buyer.I've also never done a DSR with Google but perhaps they will act quickly and process the refund the day the order is cancelled, so I don't think it's quite as clear cut as you make out.
 Well you never know.
All I know is that chargebacks work, with little input from the buyer. Unlike DSR, when the retailer plays hard to get.
Time that legal rights had someone to back up the legal process and ensure that companies who fail to adhere to the consumer regulations are fined and taken to task.
At least with chargebacks. Retailers have to pay a charge for each one against them and also too many will see action against them. Worst case is losong the right to take cards.... Best one is going on the naughty list and losing the right to contest ANY chargeback :eek:Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0

Hmm. I ordered a Nexus 7 off the Play store last week (12th, evening). The order acceptance email says 3-5 business days for delivery ... today is Day 4 and the order status hasn't changed since I first placed it.
 (Sorry for the hijack, OP).
Not my thread I know, but I now have the Nexus 7 in my hands. (Delivery was attempted yesterday afternoon, which I saw on the online tracker. I called TNT to get them to hold it at the local depot, not far from my work, and I have just been to pick it up). 0 (Delivery was attempted yesterday afternoon, which I saw on the online tracker.
