becaue contributions based benefits are payable to anyone with enought NI credits.
tou could be a millionaire and still receive contributions based benefit.

you can get help towards/free dental/glasses/ prescriptions if the contributions based benefit is your only household income or your household income is low.

you need to complete form HC1

with the wait times that Warm front currently have, it's probably worth waiting until you get income based to make the application

Waiting till you get income based ESA?

ESA is not time limited for many people so there is no wait, it is only people in the WRAG who have time limited ESA claims.
  • cant get income based esa as i live with a partner who works and his money will be taken into account which i think is unfair ::++((

Not really. Surely as your partner he is happy to support you, otherwise what is the point?

Divorce and kick him out..lol. Remember the whole idea of income related benefits is based on financial need.. if you're saying that you have financial need then what you're actually saying is you have a partner who will not financially support youwhich surely runs counter to the whole idea of having a life partner. It's not the place for politics... but I think you'll find your view highly unpopular and of course it would be extremely costly if the state agreed with you.... any couple who had someone out of work for starters would be able to claim income related benefits... even if partner earned a million a year. It's early in the morning but I would think we'd be talking about many millions of new benefits claimants on significant money.

I would study carefully the warm home scheme (in addition to warm front) that your energy supplier will likely run (check their website)... see if you might be eligible for the £130 annual discount on electricity... qualification can vary supplier to supplier as they operate and fund the scheme.

Sorry, I don't know much about ESA, so I just presumed it was like JSA, where it's contribution based for 6 months then income based...
I didn't mean to give wrong info.
