I successfully claimed from HSBC the last 6 years bank charges BUT in between receiving my claim, although they had acknowledged it in writing and said it was receiving attention, and then refunding me £725 (although I had only claimed £650), I am now informed by the bank that they are going to charge me £150 for the month March/April because I had gone overdrawn during that period. I have not been able to secure a £100 buffer overdraft with HSBC although my pay goes regularly into the bank every month. After I had applied for a refund and the money had been repaid I had been told that they would let me have a flexible overdraft but for the period between getting my application and refunding me and advising that I could in fact have a flexible overdraft, they are charging me £150 for a small overdraft. I am very upset at this and will have to go through the whole procedure again but I intend phoning the bank and speaking to a supervisor and telling him that perhaps the media should know of this.
