Extension and loft conversion on flat roof

Hello there,
I'm in process of buying a house and sometime I see not too bad house but with flat roof.
i'm really struggling with the space available and I'd like to extend the house as much as possible in london... At good cost.
I asked several loft conversion company about flat roof conversion but they didn't answer me.
So my questions are:
- is it possible to convert a flat roof to a loft room? If so what would be the price?
- what would be the price to extend a normal roof to a loft room?
- and the price to extend an or several additional room in the garden?
Thanks guys

How do you expect people to answer that question ?
Use their crystal ball......?.
Come back when you have full details then ask a few builders for quotesFor everthing else there's mastercard.
For clampers there's Barclaycard.0 -
I despair at some of the questions on here lately.0

lol...got to be a wind up....
by its very nature how can a flat roof have any loft space?
the loft conversion people you have contacted must have thought you were having them on.0 -

I don't think the OP ever said the roof had 'loft space.' The house could also have both flat and pitched roofs.
Perhaps the most polite way of dealing with this is simply to tell the OP that these questions are too vague and general to be answered here.
The only thing that can be said with certainty is that such a conversion is possible, but not whether this particular one would be economic, bearing in mind compliance with building regs. The roof may be OK as a roof, but not as a floor for a whole storey.0 -
Ok ok. Here is an example:

This property has a flat roof and a small garden. Seller is asking something like 215K and is unwilling to reduce the price.
For me, to bid in such a property I need to know I can still have possibility to extend the house. Extension on garden, or loft on the flat roof, or basement?
Space is such a premium in london!0 -
Structurally it would be possible to extend above the main roof but the planners might not go for it. Ask them.
There is no photo of the back of the house and the garden seems a bit narrow to give much useable space.
Basement is out of the question. Far too expensive.
I'd find a different property.0 -
Ok thanks. It's really difficult to find the right house in london0

I know, that's partly why I left London.
Now, looking from the outside in, I see how grim life there can be unless you have pots of cash.0 -

I think the chances of you getting PP for a 4th storey on a three storey town house is zero
