  • Credit scores are calculated when making credit applications where you even pass or you don't as no one has an individual score.

    Not just for credit applications, they can also be used for other instances (eg insurance quotes and if you buy your credit score from a CRA)

    Obviously in the last example, where you buy your credit score then you do see it (its a big enough scam with what they do let alone if they followed your statement that they never pass it on to you).

    The "problem" is evidently scores change as the underlaying data changes but more so that each lender/ company has its own mechanism for scoring so, as you say, it isnt like the USA where each individual has a single score but instead each company has an individual score for each individual. Given Experian & co dont give credit knowing what score they give you is fairly pointless but it is your score, according to them.
