Young driver insurance question

Hi, I'm a 17 year old who is currently learning to drive and would be interested to know if the following would be possible:
My mother currently owns and insures a Focus CMAX.
I currently 'own' a Corsa, but my mother is the official keeper/owner, i.e. her name appears on the registration book.
Would my mother be able to take out an additional insurance policy on 'my' Corsa with herself as the main driver and me as an additional driver?

Don't see why not...Should consider direct line. Not only do they give discount to second cars, but they'll let you build no claims whilst a named driver on your mum's policy.0

Just rang up her broker there, said it 'wasn't possible for my mother to be the main driver on two cars' (?!) which strikes me as odd indeed. I'll give the screenscrapers a try and see what they say.0

Broker/insurance companies will probably look at the details & come to the conclusion that it is am attempt at what is known as 'fronting', ie a 17 year old trying to get car insurance on the cheap.0 -
Hmmm, that's odd. Being entirely honest on the confused.com questionnaire (me as the primary driver, in other words) threw me up a quote from Quinn Direct for £977 fully comp.
Now I'm hugely confused

liverpool victoria is the best for young drivers I just got a quote of £700 with protection for my parent's no claims (really are sharing a car) which was the cheapest by about £3000

I'm in NI y'see, so most of these companies won't cover me.
Changed it to TPFT and it went down to £798, all that remains now is to pay for it

Try Quinn direct. they'll let your mum show as main driver and you as named driver and you can still build up named driving experience.Member #7 SKI-ers Club

Thanks for the help chaps, seems that the broker was talking nonsense and that Quinn don't have a problem with my mother being insured on another car. Now the only problem is that she already has her NCB on her Focus CMAX and thus cannot use it for my Corsa, which increases the price by a staggering amount.
Would she be allowed to claim named driving experience on my father's car to drive down the quote price, which she has been a named driver on since year dot?0 -
You really need to be careful with this 'main' driver thing. Your Mum will have to be the person who drives your car the most. Otherwise you could have a real problem in the event of a claim.0
