I did a search for you, on CA.com website and found the following....
Dropper list!
There seem to be many variations of the dropper. Your system should have told you what type. This list above should link to removal tools of some sort, though im not certain about that.Throwing acid is bad.... in some peoples eyes...0 -

You can never be guarenteed that you're free of viruses unless your PC is wiped blank! Just because your AV doesn't flag it up, doesn't mean it isn't there!Throwing acid is bad.... in some peoples eyes...0

and the proof backing up that sweeping statement is where ??
cleaned 100's of Pc's , no trace once the correct steps are followed....
even rootkits are easily removed today
any decent anti-spyware/anti virus/rootkit/trojan tool will remove registry entries, the files causing the infection and heal any lingering infected files......
why format and re-install ??Ex forum ambassador

You assume that your removal software detects every virus thats in the field - where a more appropriate assumption would be that it's more likely they wont! Telling someone that if they follow your guide it will 100% definately remove everything is kindof like me saying that I can 100% get on a plane without their being a possibility of it crashing.
Don't worry, im not knocking your removal guide - it's very comprehensive and great advice for anyone to follow. Im just saying that only a fool would believe they are 100% secure, be it with viruses, spyware, intruder detection or anything else computer-based. I've worked in the field for about 20 years, and can safely say i've cleaned 10's of thousands of PCs! Which is why I dont make assumtions about anything!
I love you really! Maybe a little TOO much....
p.s. IM NOT SAYING TO FORMAT AND REINSTALL! I was saying if the machine were blank it would be the only way to be sure it wasn't infected (it was a joke!!)Throwing acid is bad.... in some peoples eyes...0 -

Well ive downloaded A-squared and its bought up 37 (and counting) medium and high risk files. Once its ran its course i am hoping by deleting them, it should solve the problem. Its a pity its only a 30 day trial though because i would like to keep it for future use.
I thought Spybot was free? i downloaded it and it scannned my files but wanted me to pay before it allowed me to do anything with them. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Spybot is still free (although the author is always grateful for donations). Are you sure you downloaded it from

Sadly, there are fake sites that try to extract payments for free software.
Incidentally, as AVG let the virus through, you might want to try an alternative virus checker. You can get a free 30-day trial of NOD32, which is fully functional. Last time I checked, it was the only anti-virus software that had never failed to trap a real, in the wild virus. Not free after 30 days, but at about 30p a week, a fine investment in my view.

AVG anti-spyware (formally Ewido) is one of the top spyware/Trojan removers and remains free after the initial 30 day trial (you just have to do manual updates of the database)Ex forum ambassador
