Where to send letter to ESA ATOS Medical

Hi

I am supposed to have an ATOS medical next week, However i am unable to attend due to ill health (Edema) my legs are currently extremely swolon my gp has recommended i stay off my feet untill the swelling has gone down.

He has wrote me a letter stating that i am unable to attend the medical because of this reason,

My question is who do i send this to? I will send a copy to atos but i have also heard people say to send things like this to the decision maker aswell, but im not sure who the decision maker for my claim is? i want to make sure this letter dosent go missing so if i can send it to atos and the dwp at least one of them will get it.

The letter from Atos should have an address or a telephone number on it. You could also telephone your local JCP office to advise them of your situation.
  • Contact info (phone and email) can be found at bottom of this page: http://www.atoshealthcare.com/services/disability_assessment

When I needed to contact ATOS about an appointment I phoned them and then backed up the conversation via email. Email and phone will obviously get to them quicker than snail mail, and if you cannot scan the GP letter and attach to an email you could always write in the email that the GP letter is in the post. Or, your GP can fax them or talk to them on the phone .... ATOS contacted my GP by phone.

I agree it is worth also phoning your local job centre and asking them to make a note on the computer system. You can also send the same letter to the local job centre.

I hope your swelling in your legs reduces soon.
