Thanks from me too. I've made a copy. There's a great collection of posters on that site.

PS. One way that I feel wealthy is to read and post on the '5 OS Pleasures in Your Day' thread. If you haven't already looked at it, people post all kinds of stuff - huge and small - much of which money can't buy. It's a real feel-good thread that one.0 -
Today I have hugged my kids, mum and MIL tight, told them how much I love them all, and prayed to an entity I have struggled to believe in to protect us. My OH is currently in ICU on a ventilator with half a lung functioning after a week of flu......we don't need money, don't need a fancy Crimbo, we just need each other!
A huge lesson for me and mine, and hopefully the love will help us and OH through this!
Dont mean to be depressing, but puts everything into perspective for me todayRIP Iain

You're very welcome.
I wouldn't realise how rich I am now if it wasn't for what I'd done without previously. At one time, when we were madly economising, I tried everything (home made laundry powder, homemade toothpaste, "the family cloth", reusable sanitary protection). Now I can pick and choose what I want to economise on a bit more, but know if things get tougher for us there's a lot of areas we could cut on. That makes me feel rich.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
Jools sending huge hugs and lots of love to your family. My DSiL is too in ICU at this moment just starting her fourth week in there. Really puts things into perspective. After weeks of not knowing we were yesterday she aske dew here I was and today she said"I love you you know" What a truly wonderful Christmas present
I am truly hoping you all get the news you've been waiting for and DH starts to improve. xxx The secret of Christmas
It's not the things you do at Christmastime

Hugs to you and your family. Been there with my husband, I pray you have a good outcome. xxx0 -
Some great reality checks on this thread! Apart from a reality check, I light candles (I've always got some tealights knocking about if nothing else).
I also like to put essential oil in burners - again I've always got some of those knocking about too (worth getting in next time you have a little spare cash or request them as presents, they last ages).
The best ones for mood lifting for me are Clary Sage or Mandarin. It's amazing how a little waft of scent can make you feel better.
Jools, I'll be thinking of you and your family and hoping for a swift recovery.I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

When you read Jool's post, it puts the minor niggles in life in perspective.
When I'm feeling a bit down about things, I take a break from routine.
Maybe go out for a day. A change of scene is takes your mind off worries. If you haven't got the time or money just go out for a few hours, or for a quick walk, anything to give you a break from negative feelings.
I quite like going shopping with a friend. Watching somebody shopping is almost as good as shopping yourself, and a lot cheaper!Early retired - 18th December 2014

Like other posters, I've been there (when I was married to the XH). I used to make a game of seeing how long I could go without opening my purse for any reason - even when he was demanding I give him cigarette money.
These days - we're lucky enough to be poodling on ok (I now have a lovely DH, btw); but that's because I'm still careful with money.;)
I've never been one for loads of clothes, don't visit hairdressers or anything like that, and my idea of a good Sunday afternoon is to get out the mobility scooter and go for a "walk" with my DH, round by the Concrete Cows.:D
As a last thought, there's a bit in Damh the Bard's song "Pagan Ways" that goes:
Do you dream of drinking from the Grail / That the truth is held within a tale / And Arthur sleeps now, ready to return.
Do you know that Jack lives in the Green / That things are never as they seem / And life is more than the money that you earn.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
