iPhone 5 WiFi problems

Is anyone else having problems with their iPhone 5 and home WiFi network?
My iPhone 4 and iPad 2 never have any problems, but in the few weeks I've had the iPhone 5 it's been nothing but problems.
My router is upstairs and when I'm in the same room or the other bedroom I have no problems, full Wifi signal, however, when I go downstairs into the lounge, it drops of the Wifi network and when I try to re-connect it, my network doesn't appear in the list. If I do get lucky enough to re-connect to the network the signal strength is poor (1 bar) and as soon as I put the phone to sleep it drops the connection and I have to go through all of the above again.
My iPhone 4 never lost connection, and my iPad 2 lives in the lounge with no problems, plus my gf's galaxy S2 connects without issue.
I've tried re-setting the network settings and doing a full phone re-set, neither has solved the problem.
Does anyone have any other suggestions or should I just take the phone back to Apple for a replacement?

Mine does the same. I find my 3G is faster than wifi anyway so only turn the wifi on when I need to access the cloud. Its rather annoying considering its such an expensive piece of kit! KS:)0

It's an iPhone 5 so it will be iOS 6, which is well known for causing Wifi problems. There's no solution yet, we're waiting on Apple getting to grips with the issue. What version iOS?
