Booked a return flight from Newcastle to Gatwick with Jet2.com to link with a VFB holidays flight to Marseille. On Friday last, got an e mail from Jet2 to say that due to customer request, the flight was now leaving 4 hours later. Of course, it no longer links with the onward flight. So if I cancel and get a refund with Jet2, I will lose my deposit with VFB (£120 X 2). The other option is to get up at 2 30 in the morning, with a lady of 72 years, to get the earlier 6 am flight to Gatwick and then spend 5 hours in Gatwick.

Sent an e mail to complain (no answer). Rang and was put on phone line costing 50p a minute with the usual queue. Operator would not tell me why the flight was changed nor would she ring me back to avoid the 50p a minute rip off line.

So I will have to pay for an overnight hotel at the airport to avoid the 2.30 rising. Why do I keep booking with these cowboy outfits?

Due to customer request? That hardly seems like a good reason for them to alter it!
