Kindle reader on Versus TouchTab

I have recently (yesterday) bought a Versus Touchtab which had a kindle app already installed on it. I have purchased 4 books on there( 1 paid for) but they are all blank. The books are there, but with no content.
I have spoken to Kindle, but they couldn't help.
I was wondering if anyone on here had one and knew what the problem was.

    Have you downloaded them from the cloud to your device?
    Have you updated the Kindle app?

    sorry don't know what a cloud is. the app has been updated. I downloaded them through the app.

    If you bought the books via Amazon Kindle .
    #Log in and double check your account .

    Open Kindle go to archive click on the book ( with a valid internet ) connection and it should download .

    They have all downloaded, I have removed them and re-downloaded them, but they are still blank.

    Don't know , will look. Have just seen they are all on my iphone, even though I downloaded them on my tablet. Would this be the problem. I got the tablet because it was too hard to read off phone.

    Phone has a cloud button but cannot see one on tablet.

    Sorry for being so dim about these things. I am not very techie.

    ETA have plugged tablet into laptop and it says kindle is empty.
