When I click on any program, I get a message telling me that the file has no program associated to perform that action. Seaching would make me believe that it has happened by a virus attack.
Now the problem is I cannot open my anti virus nor can I use an online scanner that requires a download of a file.
Please help. Thanks.

Download DDS from the link below and save it to your desktop:
Link
After you've downloaded it and saved it to your desktop:- Double click DDS to run it.
- Click start
- When it's finished, DDS will open two logs:
- DDS.txt
- Attach.txt
Copy & paste the contents of just DDS.txt for now and post it here (you may need to split the log over separate posts)0 -
Thanks but the same problem happens when I try to open the DDS program.0

I`m afraid the second download is not opening for the same reason.
Closed, sadly the same happened when I tried to open the zip file. Managed to get " Fix IT " to run. Has asked me to reboot but I am a litle afraid that I wioll not be able to open a browser hence losing you guys valuable support.
Managed a work around to get Ad Adaware virus scan to work. It has already identified a number of infections. Will report back on any developments.0 -
Try the first MS fixit linked to by closed above.
The second is a reg file which we've already tried in your previous thread and it's for XP so don't try that one.0 -
Well the scan didn`t fix it nor did the " fixit " program. I see there are loads of little progams to right it but of course do not open.
Even tried the manual fix. Note pad wouldn`t load, lol !0 -

Yes rebooted. The problems found were only tracker cookies.0
