Creation - Shows Overlimit as AVIALABLE !

Hi chaps
I have a headache - and a bit of a problem
Creation have recently updated their webpage, and the new web design has caused me a major headache.
Usually when I am out shopping I just log on my phone and check the "available to spend" line, I've gone over my agreed credit limit as both the "Available to Spend "line and "Cash Available" line have the figure that I am OVER my limit by as an amount I can still spend!
I have double and triple checked the online statement - there is no Dr or Cr next to the "available" nor is it in red, or with a minus sign or ANYTHING to indicate that I am in fact outside of my account terms. Rather the opposite - it is advising I can continue to use the card !
I am absolutely furious that Creation are telling me I have "available" funds and concerned about the impact of this to other creation customers. Surely this could be a huge problem ?
I've lost my promotional rate as a result of this, so - really not happy right now. I have written to the customer "enquiry" team in regards to this, but I'm not holding my breath....
Anyone else experience similar, or have any practical advice on what to do next ?

so how do you know your over the limit if the site doesnt give that indication...If you keep on doing what's you've always done, you'll keep on being what you've always been...:think:0

The only reason I spotted it is because I checked on my desktop today, and in the itemised part there is an overlimit fee.
It quite clearly reads "available to spend" and "cash available" in the summary (which is all I see on my phone)
ETA: If you are wondering why I don't work off the " Statement Total" I always work off the "Available to spend" line as this takes in to account pending transactions whereas the total only shows items that have already been charged to the statement.0 -
overlimit fees are normally applied at the end of the billing month. Have you made a payment since the fee was applied?
Think it would be best to contact them directly and dispute the fee. Might be an idea check the balance on the PC every so often. I have barclaycard email me a weekly balance summery. If you keep on doing what's you've always done, you'll keep on being what you've always been...:think:0 -
Their "new" design website is utter rubbish and over the last week has only worked once when I have tried to log on (that's with new details as the old don't work any more). Very poor as you would have assumed that they would have tested it first?!?!

For that to be the case, you would have had to be over the limit already... So I hardly see how you could blame Creation for this... Shoddy website yes, but not remotely responsible for you going over.0 -

So when you check your account. Does it show ALL the transactions you have made.
At a guess this will be a NO.
Creation can only give you a figure based on the transaction that have been ether processed to your account or have been authorised.
It could be that a retailer has only authorised a small amount ot check the card is valid and will then debit for the full amount.
Eg. You have £100 limit.
You use card at self service petrol. They tend to auth for £1.
So you avaiable balance will show as £99.
But you took £50 petrol.
So you look at your avaiable balance next day and think you have £99 still to spend.
So off you go and spend £70 at apple online. Now they auth for £1.58.
So your balance is now showing @ £97.42
So again next day you go and blow £59.00 at tesco, but use a self service terminal. Auths for £2.00.
So your balance is then £95.42....
So you then sit back for a few days rest. When you next check your balance you find....
But when they all debit you have spent. £179... £79 over your limit....
Who's fault is that ????
Cant blame card provider as they are showing the avaiable balance for the details from what the retailer has provided.
You have to keep a check on your own balance. As you have to be aware that a retailer may have failed to process a transaction due to systems problems at their end.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -
