I agree, 2 kittens is much kinder than one, unless you are at home all day for company.

Also, hope you are not paying for these - and is your 'colleague' going to get the mum cat neutered? An accidental litter once is bad enough, but if she charging for them then you have to question a few things...like was it really an accident and is she going to keep subjecting the poor mum cat to breeding with any local tomcat.

I would not take a kitten from her unless the above is ascertained personally.

And please note, even indoor cats should be neutered.

  • Instead of going to a pet shop - have a look at:

    www.zooplus.co.uk

You will find lots of very good quality stuff there.

2 is always nicer than one.

I got 4 boys, they are ALL very very clean and loving - I had females before and TBH I prefer boys....

I agree. We have two boys at the moment and they both have lovely tempremants and so much personality.

No experience with indoor cats but we live next to a main road and they are outdoor cats. Of course there has been the odd accident but my oldest cat is nine now and terrified of going anywhere near it- dont know what caused it because he has been like that since he first went out! He will follow me around the garden but get anywhere near the road and he shoots off in the other direction sharpish. The other isnt as scared but isnt interested in it either thank god.

I agree with getting two- one will be lonely on its own regardless of being indoor or outdoor.

Enjoy- they will bring you so much joy and love
  • Funny .... I'm reading all the comments on boy cats being more loving and girl cats being more independent.

I've always had boy cats ... just the way it worked when they picked me (!) until wee cat .... I can honestly say that I love her to pieces and she is affectionate when she wants to be ..... but she's not an easy cat compared to any of the boys and TBH I think I really only will have boys from now on!

I'm afraid that I agree that if the cat will be kept indoors then 2 would be best so they've got company and stimulation. Best of luck

Yes my collegue is having her cat neutered.

We went to see them today. The ginger tabby came straight over to us and had a sniff around. The others came to nosey later on but the ginger is my favourite :) We think its a boy.

What a beauty!! I have two indoor cats and they're fine, happy and playful. I do recommend tesco value litter (as long as you scoop it regularly) I hope you enjoy your kitty :D

    He is very cute!

Ginger kittens do seem to be more adventerous, you need to start thinking about what you will do with your windows come summertime, to stop him jumping out (assuming you are not ground floor.) Screens, shutters etc.

juliebunny, he's already found the windowsill in the bedroom. It's his new favorite place to sleep. He climbs onto the bed, runs across and leaps onto it the window! Think the window lock will be in use at all times, couldn't trust him with an open window.

He's got the vets next week for his 1st jab and kitten check.
