Free Avast has run out

Morning All,

Some time ago I installed the free anti-virus Avast - on everyone's recommendation here.
However, it's run out now and I'm not sure what I need to do?

Do I uninstall it completely first? (if so, can anyone advise?)
Do I then re-install Avast for free from somewhere?
Or do I need to choose a different software now (if Avast knows I've already had it free before?)
If I do need different software - do people still recommend Avira also?

As with many on this forum, I'm not very techie so advice and links would be greatly appreciated! :o

Many thanks! :)

  • you can renew the free Avast on the website. From memory it normally takes you to the renew page from the link on your avast. It will also show the paid version on the same screen but choose the free one.
