Car Dealer wants me to claim via Windscreen Cover [and pay my excess]?

Amazing that a company would employ such an idiot as to suggest you defraud your insurer, a crime?
The above is quite true about windscreen prices, keeping away from the screen companies that spend £millions on advertising is good for your wallet.
My last screen purchase was fitted to my quite rare old Mercedes, original badly pitted over the years so not an insurance claim, cost me £170.
edit...hmm thinking about this i'd be inclined to write to the dealer principal informing him of the suggestion you were given re insurance claim.0 -
With them only paying your excess they will actually make a profit with the kickback they will get from the windscreen company.
Says it all really
Not called Arnold Shark for nothing. The stories my son came home with when he worked there would make your eyes water !from Arnold Clark0 -

Does the scratch on the windscreen make the car unroadworthy? If not then when did the scratch appear (if you actually know this)? Depending on the answer to the first question it could be considered a cosmetic issue which you had the opportunity to inspect before purchasing.0
