Leaking boiler

Hi
We have a Potterton Suprima 60 that has just started leaking. It's dripping water from the bottom. The heating hasn't been on for the last week because of the warm weather so maybe this has something to do with it?
we plan on updating the whole system anyway but anything we can do as a quick fix to stop this leaking??
Thanks

The Suprima has two primary connections at the top of the boiler to the left of the flue. These are connected to the pipe work via compression joints, so if it is one of these leaking then try tightening it up a little bit with a fairly hefty spanner.
Obviously there are water connections within the boiler but do not remove the case.
If it is not obvious then get a Corgi around. If the heat exchanger is leaking then it will be classed as immediately dangerous and will be isolated.0 -
hi
Thanks for that. The drips are coming from the bottom of the actual boiler so does this mean the leak is coming from within the boiler? If so, if this the heat exchanger?0 -

If the drips are not from the two connectors as described, then all you know that the leak is internal to the casing. It is probably the heat exchanger and so it is really down to how much the problem will cost to (a) diagnose and (b) repair compared to how much it will cost to replace the whole boiler.
One qwuestion you should be asking is why has my system started to leak? the answer almost certainly is becaus eit is absolutely filthy inside and needs urgent attention.
Hope this helps.0
