Cash limits

in Credit cards
Just to avoid doubt I thought I would start off by saying I never use credit cards to withdraw cash and so I am not actually particularly bothered by cash limits.
However, I have noticed that my cash limits are never increased when my credit limit in total is. Out of interest has anyone received an automatic (i.e. not requested) cash limit increase? Or is it standard practice for banks to do what I have described?

Barclaycard have varied my cash limit randomly over time. The last was a few months ago;
Credit limit went from £4,810 to £7,210, cash limit went from £1,400 to £2,100.
That's the only one I have with a specific limit (with a figure), my others are a percentage (NatWest and Tesco) or just all of it (MBNA/Capital One). Also have a Halifax card, which incidentally is the only one I ever use for cash (Clarity, abroad) and I have no idea if there's a limit on the total cash I can have as a proportion of my limit.
So in summary, as the rest are all a proportion of the limit, they change along with the limit, it's only barclaycard which appear to have a floating limit for cash!0 -
I have noticed that the cash limit reduces if you are only making limited payments or late payments , the last Barclaycard I had had a 3k limit for purchases but the cash advance facility was removed as explained in a letter from Barlaycard about responsible lending, the next step was they kept reducing the purchase limit on the card when I made payments, not taking any chances I guess. Probably not the reason yours is changing but I found it interesting.0
