Electric radiators don't work

I live in a 2 year old apartment and all my radiators don't work, I have a total of 5 and none will work, I have checked my fuse box and none have tripped out, also each radiator is on a different switch in my fuse box but all 5 don't work, I have a temperature control dial in the living room which is supposed to control the temperature for each, I suspect the problem may be quite simple to sort but I have no idea what it could be. Hope somebody can help me

What is the make/model of this "temperature control dial in the living room which is supposed to control the temperature for each"?
Is it battery operated? Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
its not battery operated, what I meant was the dial turns on my radiators according to the temperatute, its set to come on at 22 degrees, I tried to post some pics but cannot post links as a newbie here, any other way I can post pics of my setup?0

The time clock seems wrong (in the front of the consumer unit)
I reckon you may need to set on and off times
Make sure these times coincide with your low rate electricity or it could be costlybaldly going on...0 -
Hello, it looks like you need to switch the individual heaters on too using the switch on the wall next to the actual heaters?

(I have old Storage Heaters in my house, and that is how they work. It may take a while for them to heat up, even overnight, if you are on Economy Seven Electricity Tariff as that is when it works although maybe not as yours is a modern property).
Try it and report back! :cool:0 -

You are wasting time if you are a tennant.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
That looks like Economy 7. What's the meter itself look like?
If E7, they will only heat up over the 7 hour cheap rate period over night.0 -

Agreed - OP if you hinge up the translucent cover you should find some setting buttons.Teresa_Green wrote: »Hello, it looks like you need to switch the individual heaters on too using the switch on the wall next to the actual heaters?
Agreed if all of the panel heaters are switched off as per the posted picture.cyclonebri1 wrote: »Tennant or owner?

Not if the timeswitch need setting or the wall switches simply need to be switched on!That looks like Economy 7. What's the meter itself look like?
They are not storage heaters, so the meter/tariff is irrelevant. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
The tariff may be very important, as it may be something like Economy 10 - which costs a higher rate at different times
Check your electric bill and see what you have, you can contact your supplier to find out if you don't have a bill to hand
E10 does not switch loads, it only switches the charge to a different rate at pre determined timesbaldly going on...0 -
I had a feeling it may be something to do with the time clock, it just reads 4 zeros, I have hinged up the cover but there no bttons to change anything
