Im glad I read this early on... just changed the few comp I entered into public..
GrannyBiker: I have seen the the custome option too on facebook, but I think if that is set, it will no longer be "public"?

There is another option: Limit the Audience for Past Posts, may be worth considering

I think since companies started using facebook and twitter ect they do these competitions I think purely for advertising. It annoys me that I have to show everyone what I am entering and they bombarded with adverts ect. I only enter fb ones when the prize is good.
