3d PC gaming - what do I need?

3d gaming not my area of specialty, so just need a little advice on whats best.
Basically getting this 3d passive monitor for xmas, comes with a pair of passive glasses.

PC at the moment has a lowly radeon 4670, but I can 'obtain' a radeon 5770 from works PC.
I'm not a serious gamer, so not expecting bells and whistles.
I assume I need a 1.4 HDMI cable, but would the 5770 card support 3d gaming? Read somewhere that it requires a 6000 series card, but then elsewhere it mentions IZ3d driver. I have used that before but for anaglyph 3d.
Can I use my 5770, or best to splash on a 7750 or something?
Also, if I need to purchase more 3d glasses, will any of the passive ones work or so I need to check polarity?

Most graphic cards support 3D gaming its just a matter of having the correct driver/software and correct accesories.0

By 'correct' software, what else would I require other than latest catalyst drivers for a 5770. Do I need this Iz3d driver if I wanted to play left 4 dead 2 for example? And are there any other accessories I need that I haven't mentioned?0 -
All you require as far as im aware is the 3D drivers which catalyst provides other than that 3D glasses and monitor and your good to go.0
