Advice on finding suppliers

Hi - this is the first time I have ventured on to this section of MSE so please excuse what might be a daft question. Thankyou too for all the wise words I have already read on here.
I have just set up my own business, mainly internet based, and wanted to find a wholesale supplier of small wooden pocket money toys. I've spent hours searching on the web but no joy yet. However, I keep coming across trade directories of wholesalers. As I am small scale at the moment and I'm also just looking for one supplier I don't want to fork out to register with one of these.
I would really appreciate it if anyone has any suggestions as to where I might get this information free of charge, where I might be going wrong with my internet search!, or have any contacts.
Thankyou very much

Hi, I looked at the Spring Fair website (sory I dont have the link at the moment - but it was in February in Birmingham I think) and if youlook through the companies a few of them do this sort of thing and they are all selling to trade so you can get their trade prices.
