According to a post on another forum, Drive Assist Insurers are no longer covering their cars against third party risks. They are now only covered while parked up.
Therefore if you have a hire car from Drive Assist, make sure you are not driving around uninsured. Your own Car Insurance 'Driving other cars extension', may exclude third party Insurance for hire cars.
Please check with your own Car Insurers that you are insured, before you drive.

The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.

Must be true then
If they are allowing their cars to be driven without insurance then they are committing an offence.
They had apparently been told this, by whoever is dealing with enquiries for DA concerning hire cars that are with people. There are people waiting for the cars to be picked up, but they have not been.
I agree that the Insurers/Adminstrators would have a duty to make sure the cars are Insured. The comments I post are personal opinion. Have just been advised by minster law (my insurance is thru rac!) that the hire car is still insured. Whether or not I'm liable for hire car charges is another matter!0
