no contact from buyer still!

hi
I sold an item in the beginning of december and it took the buyer days to pay but they eventually did.
They said they wanted to pick the item up but they still haven't contacted me???
They sent me 2 messages asking for my details and I gave them twice with times I would be in but I just haven't heard anything since.
Should I refund and move on or just post the item?

Personally, I would refund them (make sure that you do it using the refund tab shown on the original paypal transaction page) and send them an e-mail stating that if they still want the item then they should contact you with 2 or 3 days to arrange collection and that it will be cash on collection.
If you were to post it you may have a problem or two.
The buyer obviously hasn't paid for P&P so you would have to cover this, and as they are not responding to your e-mails they may no longer be at the address you have for them.
What sort of item is it and what was the selling price?0 -
Agree with Shaun - unfortunately since they paid you can't open an NPB case.
This is why I suggest selling collection only items elsewhere - dealing with electronic payments for them is a nightmare and cripples the seller in the event of a no-show."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

it was a cookbook for £6 and she did pay for postage and packaging!
she paid after 4 days and then emailed to ask for me to give her the P+P back in cash.
I didn't offer collection but she asked before bidding so I didn't have a problem with it. I also told her that I am only home after a certain amount of time but she still bidded.
I'm very tempted to just refund because I've been hanging around long enough.0 -
It's very unlikely to be a scam for the sake of £6, but you could still end up losing more than this.
If the cookbook was £6 and you refunded the P&P in cash. the buyer could still claim non delivery and they would get the full £6 refunded and they would also have the cash that you gave them.0 -
However, if she had arranged to collect, then OP would presumably have done that anyway - that's reasonable if you are not going to post it.
As it stands, if you have enough to post the item, I would send it out now - no point in hanging on to both cash and item and dithering about it."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

If they paid post and packing they are probably wondering where the item is.
Letting them pay by paypal and then collecting could be trouble.
After they collect they claim they have not received the item. And they get a refund you lose the item and the money.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
