is it worth getting an AA check done on 2 year old car?

Hi, due to purchase a 2 year old Vauxhall Astra SXI soon that's only done 13k miles from a dealership. It's still under warranty until next October so just under a year left. The car will have had a 100 point check done by the garage i am buying it from. Is it worth getting a 200 point check done by the AA for £120? baring in mind it's a fairly new car? My partner said how do you know the previous owner's not ragged it around. What do you think? Thanks

If its a fairly reputable "main" dealer I would think you are fairly safe.

If it was me I would not bother on a 2 year old car.

  • it's from these guys..http://www.thameservicestation.co.uk/

They won recent awards from Motor Trader and AM magazines as Used Car Retailer of the Year 2009 and 2010.

Hopefully it will be ok then. What come back to do you have if something goes wrong though?

"ragged it around" not sure how the AA would include that in any report.

If it was me I wouldnt get a report done.

You should be able to see for yourself if the car ahs been looked after or not
  • If it had been mistreated would'nt the car show early wear on the AA report somewhere along the line?

You have the manufacturer's warranty to cover any problems for nearly a year. I wouldnt personally waste the money. You can always extend your warranty when it runs out.

The dealership looks good, I think you dont need to worry. Enjoy
