Getting up at stupid times!

Yesterday, Friday, I woke up, trotted off to the bathroom in the dark (I get up at 5 for work, no one else is up so I keep as many lights off as I can), and proceeded to go through my morning routine...bath, hair wash, get dressed.

Went downstairs, let the dogs out, made my coffee, checked out the front and was annoyed to see that either Milk&More hadn't delivered or some !!!!!! had stolen my stuff again. Put the TV on BBC1 to catch up on the world while I dried my hair - and The Sign Zone was on, what the...?

I looked at my phone and it was 02:38am. Oh for goodness sake!

Seriously, is it too hard to just look at the clock when you wake up? While I was washing my hair I even remember thinking "I don't even remember the alarm going off" lol I just thought I was tired. I'd been in bed an hour and thirty eight minutes. Hopeless.

So, I got the girls back in and me and two nice warm Labradors had a sleep under a blanket on the settee until 6am. I leave at 6:35am so I reset my phone alarm for 6 so I could re-wake up and have a coffee and that....

Saturday morning, six a bleedin clock the alarm I set yesterday goes off and gets me up :( I am so useless at times I scare myself.

I love that feeling when you wake up, look at the time and realise you have another few hours of sleep yet !

I wake up every morning at 6.30 for work, i still wake up on Saturdays and Sundays too, no alarm clock needed ! But you can bet that if i didn't set it, i would sleep in !

OP, you can always have a quick snooze this afternoon, another guilty pleasure of mine :)
  • It's worse when you have something important the next day and you wake up, look at the clock and panic because it says that you're 4 hours late. Apart from your not, you've just (somehow) misread 4am as 9am...

Or when you have something important the next day, and you wake up, look at the clock and panic because it says you're 4 hours late... and you actually are :( As happened to me this morning. Stupid head cold has just wiped me out. Might have to join you on the sneaky snooze! Knackered even though I've slept in!

I used to work shifts and after an early shift would have a few hours kip.

Several times I woke up and hazily looked at the time and full panic ensued as I thought it was 6am whem it was in fact 6pm! Disrupted sleep patterns cause madness!

I usually can't get back to sleep again once I've woken up - it's so frustrating!

I try not to look at the clock as I don't like to see how long I've been awake for.

I'd love to have a lie in on Saturdays and Sundays but unfortunately my body clock seems to be programmed to wake up at silly o'clock.

    I'm terrible.

    When I'm tired I sleep.

I'm a 24 year old student and napping is my favourite pastime.

I usually get 3 or 5 hours of sleep each night with several disco naps throughout the day.

If I do go to sleep at 10 or 11 I wake up round 2 and potter around for a hour till I fall back asleep.

I woke up one night, I was so tired I couldn't figure out what was happening. I looked at the digital alarm clock, wasn't wearing my glasses, and it read 5:17 except I didn't read it as the time, I took it as an instruction and sat on the edge of my bed for a couple of minutes before realising.

Lucky it wasn't two hours later or you'd have stamped on it for being cheeky.
  • I did a similar thing this morning....

I had to do a 4 hour drive today, so I'd planned to set my alarm for 5am, get everything ready, leave about 6am. I set my phone (an iPhone) and went to bed. The iPhone went off, I pressed a button the alarm was switched off, got up, coffee, breakfast all ready.

Decided to have a look at the news quickly, turned TV on.....01:48!

Forgot that the alarm tone was the same as my ringtone, I'd actually been called by my best friend who was on a night out and I'd asked her to give me a missed call when she got in.... Which is what happened and I'd forgotten!

Went back to bed and woke up at 9......luckily wasn't an urgent visit and I'd not given a time as to when I'd get to where I was going so no lateness there, just my own stupidity!

I'm always up at stupid o' clock.
I usually go to bed between 10 and 11 and fall asleep before 12 then wake up about 2. I read in bed until I can sleep again but it often gets to 6am and I just give up.
