and how long do they award ESA for in the support group, minimum-maximum months?

and after this do they 'redo' the application process, for the support group people ?

It's £71 + £34.05

Everyone goes through the assessment phase. This is the first 13 weeks of the claim. During the assessment phase, you need to send in fit notes from your GP or other doctor (for example in my case my psychiatric hospital sent them)

The support group is part of the main phase.

Once you have had your work capability assessment (WCA) at 13 weeks, you will be sent a letter telling you if you are in the Support Group, Work Related Activity Group, or if you have been found not to have limited Capability for Work.

Reassessment can be done at any time from 3 months later to 2 years later or more. At reassessment, they perform a fresh Work Capability Assessment, initially by sending a new ESA50 questionnaire.

Those undergoing migration do not have an initial assessment phase.
They switch from one benefit to ESA main phase - support or work related group.

If you are on IS currently - you would as Roger says, stay on that until your actual migration onto ESA - assuming you pass the WCA medical. If you get into WRAG weekly rate is £99.15 currently and if you get into support group it would be £105.05 per week. That is purely for the basic straight forward award usually contributions type. If you are put into the income related sort, then there may be additional premiums payable for support group of the EDP £14.80 or £58.20 for the more severe disability, which I think you need to be on HRC DLA for that. Not too sure of the last bit as I only get the EDP one.

However if you failed the medical/WCA for some reason, then you would need to send in a fit note and appeal that decision within 30 days using form GL24 and you would then get only £71/week currently I think it is. I could be wrong about rate, but I think that is what can happen. Hopefully that will not happen.
