Card for a 19yo

Let me clear something up, my parents had money saved for university for me, and instead of going to uni I started an apprenticeship for Network Rail. I was given the money to put in an ISA at 16 when I was allowed, I then deposited the maximum amount each year until now. Therefore that is where my £16k came from.
OP - it is no-one's business except your own where that money came from and I'm sorry if you feel somehow besieged here. Your original question was a good one, just not one to which there is a good answer in your particular case (age, not any other reason!). Keep saving!
BTW, what a fantastic thing your parents did for you....Practically Perfect in Every Way......:grinheart0 -
It's a good question, but absolutely OOT.
And even if the rate is low now, this is not a reason for losing the allowance.
Well assuming it isn't fixed, currently Santander offer 1.75% including 12 month bonus of 0.5%
or
0.1%
on CASH ISA's
so could do with switching...
Anyway good luck applying for a card, not sure you will get the limit you want though.I have numerous qualifications in Business and Finance, Accountancy, Health and Safety and am now studying Law.
Don't rely on anything I write as it may be wrong!!!0 -

It's what I (and my eldest son) did and I've certainly got no regrets...and never been out of work in 35 years. I did go to university later in life...but only when I'd got my feet firmly on the career ladder.0 -

The money is from his parents, it's entirely plausible the money is in his name (hence "his" money) but his parents have forbidden him from accessing it until x age, or condition y is met.0 -
