Just to answer the above posts. Yes £34k is a lot in 2 years. I thought it would be longer butI really hacked away at it- it meant no restaurants, coffee shops, cinema trips. I just threw every penny at my debt and got used to buying smart price. It wasn't a problem I was determined and my 4 children didn't complain.
I'm a freelancer so at times I'd have an income spurt and pay off a chunk. I used my online account and stayed in touch with CCCS every time the figures went down. If there was any extra money in -I attacked one card at a time. The worst was the 10k card but I chipped away constantly. Not sure if it was orthodox but I kept making additional online payments when I could.
I closed all my cards -I dont need them as I only spend what I have. I have one card with a small £500 limit and I always pay it off.
I already have a mortgage so now I will save every spare penny, put my tax aside and take holidays with the kids. I will still live very carefully.. this has been such a positive experience for me....

Wow I am in awe - I so hope that will be me in a few years time! Am I understanding right - on a DMP do you have to pay back the whole total of your debt?
