I have done it

I am debt free at last...I have paid off 34k and today I made my last payment...
I went on a DMP with CCCS/Stepchange 2 years ago who were brilliant and all interest was stopped which made a huge difference. I know there are so many questions about DMP's but for me there were no negatives it was all positive.
I did throw everything I had at my debt and it was at times miserable but I knew I couldn't give up.
At last I can have my life back...I cant believe this day is finally here.
Good luck to you all it is so worth it - I will still keep following everyone's journey.....Plum:money:

  • Wow 34k is impressive, I think that calls for a bottle of wine and a take away tea! But remember you have worked so hard at it, don't fall in to the same trap again :) don't forget to add yourself to the debt free role call.

  • Congrats, a real accomplishment.
  • Well done thats great. How did you manage to do it do you have any advice. My husband has around £60,000 i feel like we will never pay it off
  • Well done Plum! We to are now debt free. Best advice I can give is to take cash wherever you go. It's so much harder to let go of cash than to use your card. I have 2 purses now. A housekeeping purse and my spend purse. At the end of the month whatever I have left is put into a tin from the pound shop that you can't get into and whatever is left in my bank account goes into a savings account. Since being debt free we have been to Vegas and a couple of European holidays. All paid for in cash! Treat yourself for Christmas and then use your experience in 2013 to stay debt free!
We finally did it! Debt free 28/6/10 :T  :T
