What?! Names & Home addresses for Business sellers are appearing in Google searches??

I'm maybe being really naive here but I was always under the impression that the names and addresses we enter as business sellers weren't actually searchable on google.

Just to clarify I mean the info ebay insists Business sellers have on our auction pages not any text we enter in our listing description.

I've just put nothing but my surname (which is pretty common) and the borough of London I live in into google. And loads of my completed ebay auction pages are appearing in google search on the first page.

They're appearing as .com auction pages and are auctions I listed on .co.uk with the listing upgrade to appear on .com as well.
Seems the ones I haven't added the listing upgrade to aren't showing up and auctions I have just listed directly on .com with worldwide shipping aren't showing either.

Pretty peeved about this I've always avoided social media and ever using my real name online - I had enough of annoying ex's with all that friends reunited malarkey.

And now all someone needs is my surname and the borough of London I live in and they've got my address, ebay account, mobile number, email . Same as if all they've got is my mobile number or just even just an email address and they're a google away from my home address, full name, ebay account.
Not happy.

The addresses are a legal requirement and presumably the text on eBay is searchable by Google.

If you run a business you can't escape having it listed. If you don't like this then you cannot sell anywhere online as a registered business.

If you have personal issues with it then that's problematic, but it's neither eBay's nor Google's fault.

I just tried mine and nothing came up, not sure why or why not? Maybe someone else will know a way of stopping it as i wouldn't like it either.

edit to add if i searcg for my ebay id all my listings do come up, however not if i search by my surname.
Is your surname part of your user id? might be the issue.

That's the point they have never been searchable in the past. Just been researching this and have confirmed it.
Ebay made a big deal about them not being searchable when they first started getting people to switch to business sellers.

And they are not supposed to be searchable now either
and in the main they aren't. Apart from the anomaly I pointed out above i.e if you list on .co.uk with the enhanced international feature.

Nope it's nothing like that, it's looks like it must be a glitch for listings with the international exposure (i.e .com/.ca) selected. Just tested on other sellers auctions and same thing is happening all you need is their mobile number and you've found their ebay account and associated personal information.
